Often termed the "King of Ayurvedic Treatments" because it was historically reserved for royalty, Pizhichil is an immersive sensory experience. The guest lies on the Droni while 2-4 therapists soak linen cloths in warm, medicated oil (approx. 3-4 liters are used per session). They squeeze the oil rhythmically over the guest’s body from a specific height (approx. 6-9 inches) to maintain thermal consistency. One hand squeezes the oil while the other massages it into the skin. The sensation is one of being cocooned in a continuous, warm liquid embrace. The heavy flow of oil induces a profound sense of safety and grounding.
