Third Eye Pour

Shirodhara

Duration:45–60 Minutes

The Sensory Experience

The guest lies supine with the neck supported. A Dhara Chatti (vessel with a cotton wick) is suspended above the forehead. A continuous, oscillating stream of warm medicated liquid is poured gently back and forth across the forehead, focusing on the Sthapani Marma (Third Eye). The eyes are covered with cotton pads dipped in rose water. The sensation is often described as a "brain massage," inducing a trance-like state (Tandra) where the guest is neither fully asleep nor fully awake.
